What happens to my answers?
NatCen Social Research is conducting the Age 68 Survey on behalf of the Centre for Longitudinal Studies at UCL. NatCen holds your contact details during the survey period so that they can invite you to the survey and the problem-solving tasks, and send reminders if needed.
Your answers to the survey are kept securely on NatCen’s servers through the data collection period, and are securely transferred over to UCL soon after.
The problem-solving tasks have been designed and are hosted by H2 Cognitive Designs, which means your task responses are stored on their secure servers. H2 Cognitive Designs do not have access to your name or contact details. Once complete, H2 Cognitive Designs will securely transfer the data to UCL. NatCen will not receive any of your task responses.
At UCL, researchers will use internal study ID numbers to combine your task data with your survey responses — your name is never attached to your answers. This means that responses can never be identified.
As with all our surveys, your answers are combined with responses from other participants and made securely available to researchers via the UK Data Service and other trusted repositories. This data is used to inform research into your generation.
