Age 68 Survey

The next survey will take place this year. It will be an online survey that you can complete yourself (rather than with an interviewer). Over the next few months, we will be contacting you by post and email to invite you to take part.

Watch Professor George Ploubidis, director of the study, explain what the survey involves this time.

What will we ask you?

We’ll ask you to complete an online questionnaire, covering topics such as home life, relationships, housing, finances, health and wellbeing, leisure activities and attitudes.

There will also be a couple of questions that ask you to reflect on the past and future in your own words.

In all, it should take around 50 minutes to complete the whole questionnaire.

After you’ve completed the questionnaire, we will invite you to complete a set of online problem-solving tasks.

You can find more information about the Survey in our FAQs page.

Why age 68?

We’ve followed your journey from the very beginning, tracking how your lives have changed over this time.

This survey will be our first catch up with you since you reached the current state pension age – a significant milestone for many people. Some of you will have already retired while others are continuing to work   – whether through choice or necessity.

Your experiences at 68 will help us learn more about later life and ageing, and will shape research and policy that can benefit everyone.
